Coaches & Volunteers

The Northeastern Youth Sports Association relies on dedicated volunteers to make our programs possible. Coaches, assistants, and volunteers play a vital role in providing a positive experience for our athletes and helping them grow both on and off the field.

We are incredibly grateful for the time and energy our volunteers give to support youth sports in our community.

Become a Volunteer:
NEYSA is always looking for volunteers to help with:
• Head coaches
• Assistant coaches
• Team parents
• Event helpers
• Board members
No prior coaching experience is required — just a willingness to help and support our players.

Coaching Expectations:
NEYSA coaches are expected to:
• Provide a safe and supportive environment
• Teach fundamental skills and teamwork
• Encourage positive sportsmanship
• Treat all players fairly and respectfully
• Communicate clearly with parents and players

Coaches should focus on player development, effort, and enjoyment of the game.

Coaching Resources:
To help coaches succeed, NEYSA provides:
• Practice plan ideas
• League rules and guidelines
• Equipment support
• Communication tools through the team platform

Additional resources may be shared before the start of each season.

Coaching Code of Conduct

All coaches are expected to:
• Lead by example
• Promote respect for officials and opponents
• Encourage positive behavior from players and parents
• Prioritize athlete safety and well-being

Full code of conduct can be found here: Coach Code of Conduct

Clearances

To ensure the safety of all participants, all coaches and volunteers must complete a background check and obtain clearances before working with athletes.

All required forms can be found here: Clearances
